What’s in a Glass of Milk?

Happy World Milk Day! People all around the world are celebrating today by raising a glass of milk to toast the contributions dairy brings to health and sustainable food systems worldwide. As a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) you likely know the nutritional value of milk and health benefits associated with healthy dietary patterns, but are you aware of the broader value to people, communities and the planet?

A Glass of Milk is: 


Milk has 9 essential nutrients that help nourish life and support health and well-being for children and adults, across the lifespan. One of these nutrients is calcium, which helps support strong bones. Healthy dietary patterns, which include low-fat and fat-free dairy foods, are linked to reduced risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
