“I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things we could use.” —Mother Teresa
Working with dairy famers, I have experienced firsthand their commitment to be greener, which has inspired me to want to do my share to make the earth a better place.
Last year, we had a family meeting to determine what each of us wanted to do to be greener. My daughter helped us set up a in-home composting process for food scraps. It’s amazing- We continue to have less and less garbage going out!
My husband uses the compost from our scraps in our small garden. Last year, we had a bumper crop of tomatoes.
I chose to separate garbage not only at home, but in the office and away as well. I look for ways to separate garbage into : Compost, Recycling, or Landfill. It is great to see more and more places separating garbage!
Small changes can make a big difference. Dairy farmers are taking some great steps, and I want to make sure I do my part. How about you? What have you done to make the earth a better place?
